1. Chapel Meeting
Our season ending Chapel meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 12, after school. Everyone is expected to attend. The seniors will again speak to the team, as will the coaches. The meeting should be done no later than 4pm, but some girls may have a light practice afterwards.
The last official day of practice for girls who will not compete in the Regional Championship Meet is Thursday, May 15. On this particular day we will hold an intra-squad track meet. Everyone is expected to be there, and the basics of this meet are given below.
a. Teams: we will divide into 3-4 different teams, most likely on the basis of random draw. Each team will be assigned a captain who will be ultimately in charge of making team-related decisions such as who competes in which event, relay order, etc.
b. Events: we will compete in a scaled down version of the regular set of events. Events will be scored, just like a regular track meet, and we will attempt to provide some type of awards to the top finishers. Although we may still add an event or two, the expected event list is as follows:
100 meter dash 100 meter hurdles Shot Put
200 meter dash 4 x 100 meter relay Long Jump
400 meter dash 4 x 400 meter relay High Jump
1600 meter run

d. Food: if possible, we would appreciate some of our parents maybe coordinating the bringing of food and/or drinks to this meet. Nothing fancy, maybe something for the girls to snack on.
3. Remaining Track Meets
We have the following meets remaining on our schedule:
Each girl must return the same uniform she checked out. If you return someone else’s uniform, then your uniform will be considered missing. It is a very good idea to return your uniform in some sort of plastic bag that includes your name. Your uniform should be washed and neatly folded, and returned in an appropriate state (i.e. unaltered and not damaged beyond normal wear and tear).

For those competing at State, note that May 31 is the final day of the State Meet, so if you compete at State, then be prepared to return your uniform before you leave the meet.
Anyone who does not return their uniform in an appropriate state by the correct due date will have their name submitted to the Athletic Director. In most cases, girls who do not meet the deadline will be given detention. Depending on the date your uniform must be returned and whether you are a graduating senior, detention may not be a possible or relevant option. In these situations, parents will be billed by the school for the replacement cost of their daughter’s uniform. The replacement cost for uniform tops is $25 and for uniform shorts is also $25.
Information regarding the Spring Track Banquet will go out soon, if not already. The banquet is an opportunity for us to celebrate the accomplishments of every girl on the team. We ask that everyone please attend the banquet unless it is completely impossible to do so.
